All the TV Thatās Fit to Stream
Welcome back to streaming variability, a newsletter all about tv and whatās worth watching written by some random idiot on the internet!
Quick Thoughts
Awkwafina is Nora From Queens (CC) sees its season finale hit this week. I canāt say Iāve been enjoying this season as much as past years, but itās still a good show to throw on when you are looking for something lighter and shorter. Iād much rather throw on an episode of Bupkis over this thoughābut maybe thatās just the newness.
Ghosts of Beirut (Showtime) is also wrapping up. I havenāt gotten a chance to throw this on yet, so I donāt have much to say. Drop a line if you think this is worth bumping up the queue.
Otherwise, the only other things going on right now are the NBA Finals, where I correctly predicted the first two games. Iām still holding out hope Iām wrong and the Heat are able to figure out a way to pull this out.
Then there was WWDC today. A lot of nice quality-of-life improvementsāmany of which have me wishing I was a default app kind of guy and could just get rid of everything but the stock mail, calendar, notes, and reminders. But here I amā¦ with Fastmail, Fantastical, Drafts (and many others depending on my mood) and Things (or whatever new thing thatās been released that promises to solve productive for all of mankind). Iām also feeling like Iām this much closer to pulling the trigger on an M2 MacBook Air to replace my 2015 MacBook Proā¦
Anyways, the bigger news was obviously ~~***Vision Pro***~~. I donāt have much else to say about it that I havenāt already thrown out there with my initial quick take and then my wish they started simpler.
New Stuff
Itās Always Sunny in Philadelphia S16 (FX) ā June 7
The show that will never die. I enjoy the Sunny Iāve watched, but only in bits and pieces. Maybe Iāll give the new season a shot.
Based on a True Story S1 (Peacock) ā June 8
Full season drop for Based On A True Story. Honestly, Kaley Cuoco has been on a terrific run, but Iām a little worried about this one. It feels like a slapstick The Flight Attendant meets Truth Be Told. Hopefully Cuoco and Messina find a good chemistry that can keep this rolling.
The Crowded Room S1 (Apple) ā June 9
This is starting to feel like Hollandās last stand for me. Obviously heās Spider-Man, but heās struggled to do much else that impresses. Heās got the bomb that was Cherry and then Uncharted, which I guess did fine, butā¦ I donāt know.
Human Resources S2 (Netflix) ā June 9
Havenāt been keeping up with this or Big Mouth. Feels like a pretty big miss on my part as people love it, but I just havenāt been able to prioritize this one.

Lastly
Feels weird not having a stellar Sunday and Monday show from HBO to look forward to every week after having Succession, Barry, Perry Mason, White House Plumbers, and The Last of Us all kind of passing the torch to one another. It makes The Schedule feel pretty bareā¦ Anywaysā¦ If you made it this far, I figured I should mention Iāll be pulling the June issue of nonsense. down at the end of this week, so if you are interested and havenāt checked it out, this is your last shot. Julyās will be right around the corner though.
As always, stay sane.
