All the TV Thatās Fit to Stream
Welcome back to streaming variability, a newsletter all about tv and whatās worth watching written by some random idiot on the internet!
Quick Thoughts
High Desert, Class of ā09, Clone High, and From all wrap up their seasons this week. None are top tier, although Ryan Broderick of Garbage Day wrote his praises for From over at GQ.
I also got around to watching the first episode of The Crowded Roomā¦ not impressedā¦
Some pretty big and exciting releases this week, but before we get to that, I wanted to share an Instagram account Iām trying out: @tivtoday. I just fired it up and it may not stick, but Iām experimenting with some visuals to supplement my main site and thought itād be fun to give it a go...
Bigger shows debuting that are not being tracked here: And Just Like That S2 (Max), The Gold S1 (Paramount), and Swagger S2 (Apple). Do with that what you will.
New Stuff
Secret Invasion S1 (Disney) ā June 21
Iāve been pretty down on Marvel, basically since the pandemic, as has most of the world, seemingly, but Iām pretty excited for this. I havenāt really been paying much attention to the marketing and the buzz (if there is any) around this, but given the name, it really feels like this should be their first big event of the MCU on streaming. Excited to see if they can pull off something special and get some of that Marvel buzz going again.
The Bear S2 (Hulu) ā June 22
The Main Event of the month. I couldnāt shut up about Season 1 and Iām really excited to see how they tackle this season given where the last one ended. Iām partly biased here because of my love for Chicago and how they represent the city (plus who doesnāt love a good beef). Full season drops at once, which I continue to hate, but for this show, I can actually see myself bingeing the whole thing right away.
Skull Island S1 (Netflix) ā June 22
New King Kong animated show that I figured Iād throw out there. It looks pretty fun, getting looks at the various other monsters that inhabit the island alongside King Kong.
Iām a Virgo S1 (Amazon) ā June 23
For those of you who read up on the last issue of nonsense. you know this was a sleeper pick Iām extremely excited for. I havenāt read much buzz up to this point, but given this is the follow-up to Boots Rileyās directorial debut, Sorry to Bother You, I suspect the interwebs will pick up as the whole season drops Thursday night / Friday morning.

As always, stay sane.
